How Many Days Will Take To Get PF Amount after EPF Withdrawal
When an employee applies for EPF claim online then it takes 5-30 days to get the PF amount into the bank account. But the time depends upon how fast the EPFO office clears the claim. Some EPFO offices clear the claim in around 5 days while some take more days.
When an employee applies for the claim in offline mode then it takes 20-30 days.
Once EPF settles the account the EPF site shows the message about the account being settled with the date of NEFT amount. For example, explained below Claim receipt is for 16 Mar 2018, Dispatch Date is 19 Mar. But the amount is credited 2-3 days after the NEFT date mentioned in the Status on EPF site.

The process of Online Withdrawal
- You should not be working at the time of submission of the claim in an establishment that is covered under the Employees’ Provident Fund and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952.
- A claim for the purpose of final settlement can be submitted only after 2 months of the last date of employment.
- Your Aadhaar and PAN Verified
- Your previous employer should have updated your Service History with Date of Exit(DOE) of EPF and EPS.
- Please verify your bank account number. As money is transferred to your bank account.
If you don’t meet these conditions then you have to go offline and submit the EPF withdrawal form to your previous organization. Our article EPF Withdrawal: How to withdraw from EPF and EPS explains the offline process through the previous employer and also without the employer.
Select the claim you require out of the 3 namely, full PF Settlement, PF Part withdrawal (loan / advance) or EPS withdrawal as shown in the image below.
- If someone is applying online for EPF partial withdrawal i.e. loan/advance one doesn’t need to submit any documents along with.
- You need to fill Form 19 for EPF Withdrawal
- You need to fill Form 10C for EPS or Pension Withdrawal
- You need to fill Form 31 for Partial Withdrawal

Login to UAN site with your UAN and password. Go to Online Services -> Track Claim Status You will see a window similar to shown in the image below, where it mentions date of claim submission, and status

Enter UAN and Captcha (the alphabet and numbers)
Select the Member Id
You will see the details similar to shown below with Claim Status as Settled.
The same message you will get for Form 10C/Form 31 also. Both the PF amount and pension amounts will be credited to your bank account within 2-3 hours gap. In general, the maximum time for NEFT payment is 1 to 24 hours, But in EPFO case it is taking more than 2-3 days.
What does Claim Status Pending at DA Accounts mean?
If your claim status is showing as pending at DA it means it is stuck at the EPFO office. The approval process in EPFO goes through DA(Dealing Assitant), AO(Assessing Officer) and CO(Cash officer) as shown in the image below.
In EPFO, Dealing Assistant(DA), is the first person who checks the PF claim applied. He may approve or reject your claim. Once your claim is approved by the dealing assistant then the chances of your claim rejection are very low. If your claim is rejected by the DA then your claim status will be changed to reject, and the reason for rejection will be mentioned in the PF claim status portal. Based on the reason of rejection you need to rectify and proceed further. Some of the reasons for rejection of your claim by DA
- Mismatch of your details on the PF account and bank passbook or cheque.
- If the name is not printed on the uploaded cheque.
- If PAN and Form 15g are not submitted for eligible cases.
Once DA approves the PF claim then claim is sent to the AO (Accounts Officer),
After approval of AO, the claim is sent to CO ( Cash Officer). Cash officer deposits your EPF claim amount into your bank account through NEFT.
Raise Complaint about PF not settled

You can claim the TDS by filing the ITR

You should have transferred first before withdrawing.

If new amount shows in your passbook which you have merged from previous/new employer then you can go for full and final settlement.

Sure you should try to claim under COVID 19 option.
One can withdraw a lower amount of the following:
1) 3 months of Basic wages and Dearness allowance. Check your Payslip for basic salary and Dearness allowance.
2)75% of EPF Corpus amount till now. The amount standing to the credit in EPF includes employee’s share, employer’s share and interest thereupon

Actually, your PF claim process has to pass through three officers in the EPFO office-
DA (Dealing Assistant)
AO (Account Officer) for an amount more than 25,000 and SS (Section Supervisor) for an amount less than Rs 25,000
Cash Section
After the claim is passed from these three officers, the claim amount is sent to your bank account.
After the PF Claim is passed by DA, it is sent to the Account Officer, after which you can have your PF Claim Status displayed as follows – “Comming as pending in SS / AO / AC accounts”

I had applied for PF Advance withdrawal on 18 Jan for 60k as illness. Its still under process (12 feb). when i did online research its says 6 month Basic+DA or Employee share whichever is less.
My employee share is 56K only, employer share is 30K, total 86k. will my 60k advance request will be processed for 56k or it will be rejected due to shortage of 4k in employee share.
and another one, if they reject, can i apply instant or do i need wait for certain period.

If it gets rejected you can apply again for that amount.
They will approve it for 56K only. I had a similar situation and they approved for the amount available in employee share.

I am not an expert on this but I will share my experience. I submitted claim for PF advance stating reason as illness on 26th Feb. The status was ‘Sent to field office’ on 27th Feb and then it changed to ‘Under Process’ on UAN site (‘Pending at SS/AO/AC accounts ‘ on Umang app) and remained the same till 12th March.
As 10 working days were already passed, I chose to register a grievance on 11th March 2020. Surprisingly, on the next day of my grievance registration (12th March), I got the sms of approval. I found that the status was now changed to ‘Pending at DA Scroll’ on Umang app. on 14th March, I got another message that the claim is settled and will be credited to my bank account within 3 working days. I hope it will be credited soon. So, I would recommend to register a grievance if you have crossed the 10 working day’s window.

TDS is deducted @ 10% on EPF balance if withdrawn before 5 years of service.
Remember to mention your PAN at the time of withdrawal. If PAN is not provided TDS shall be deducted at highest slab rate of 30%.
Total EPF withdrawal is around 85,486 but EPF and EPS each limit is less than 50,000.
Online claim forms of epf and eps are different. So TDS may not be deducted.
Will cross check and get back to you.
You can submit Form 15G/Form15H if tax on your total income including EPF withdrawal is nil.
TDS is not deducted if Form 15G/Form 15H is submitted.

Today My final settlement done, (Was applied on 10-Nov-19)
As I mentioned above 23,000 Employee + 19,400 Employer= 42,400/- (EPF)
But they have not added 3 time Intrest in the previous year & current Year
including those EPF become = 54,289/-
So they have deducted 5428/- Even though I have sent PAN & 15G to EPFO office (EPFO & my location different State)
I was unable to update 15G online cause PAN was not updated, Again PAN not update because of initial present on my name. Again Initial in sure name wont consider with Income Tax department
I dont know why they want PAN in UAN portal, My PAN linked to AADHAR, Employer will not process salary without PAN(Was Mandate in my Employer), Also have sent though Registerd Post-AD.

If they mentioned PAN how many days will it take to reflect in 26AS
If they have not mentioned what should I do. or if I receive a TDS certificate without PAN mentioned can I fill ITR?
usually, the information about TDS returns is updated within two days, but it is advisable to check Form 26AS after the 7 days
TDS will always show up against PAN
If TDS does not show up in Form 26AS then verify that no TDS has been deducted!

I raised PF request twice. The first one had been rejected. The second one raised on 28 Nov is still under process (It has been 42 days in total). The grievance has not been responded to either, which was raised on 17 Nov (22 days). The helpline numbers are not helpful too, asking me to wait for 10 more days each time I call. Yes, many times the bank details and for IFSC code, EPFO recommends that one uploads the cheque leaf.

You should check few things now.
Take your cheque book and compare it what you have in UAN portal side by side if everythings looks fine [Including IFSC and zeros in front of account number] then expect it in within a week.

You can update your bank account and get it approved by your employer.
You can also question EPFO about what is wrong about your bank details by raising issue at EPF complaint website as explained in How to register EPF complaint at EPF Grievance website online

i have two accounts in epfo but when i trying to transfer amont from previous employer to current employer it says (Details of previous account are different than present account. Hence claim request cannot be processed.) what can i do and i have the option to claim from my latest employer but dont have the option to claim from previous employer please suggest what can i do.
There are two reasons for this error. Either your date of exit of two firms overlaps or basic details updated in epfo of two accounts had error. Now you can view your present firm details and request your previous employer for cross checking and request them to update. Then only you can transfer it online.
Or else you can fill the form 13 offline and contact your present employer for attestation and submit it to epfo office.

Filed the grievance again two so far SRBOM/E/2019/10839 , SRBOM/E/2019/11184 , posted on their twitter handle also. I am stuck now. I have commited to pay downpayment for house purchase and my booking amount is going in drain because of the lazy sloths in EPF department.
Grievance portal is just fake status inquiry posrtal. Nothing else.
Don’t what worked grievance or social media or its just the amount of time they take , I won’t say this is done because all i got was just a message which is don’t consider as done.

There you see a tricky word again “Shortly” , i will let you know how long the short was for EPF department.

Since i know now the account IFSC code was wrong so there is no way i will get my money in account but what i have expected it was this to go back to EPF account so i can reclaim , or reauthorize.
Its been sometime when the NEFT was initiated which was on 13th on august now its been 11 days i still see “Claim Settled” status in EPF portal. Money stays deducted.
Raised grievance no reply. Called noone picked. went to office submitted the reauthorization form and asked they said wait and they will send message on my mobile number.
🙁 This was the longest of something i did in my life. Never knew the strech of this would have just avoided and left how it was , I have now no visibility to the money which i had in my account or news where its gone.

Finally when nothing worked out i made a visit again on 5th September to EPF office. This is how it goes.

1. Reach office
2. Take token
3. Register token on same counter say what you came for.
4.Walk to the first floor.
5. In case security resist don’t fight , tell the problem he might arrange some local help too.
6. Go to the first floor where people with computers on 90’s seated or i will say buried in the files older than 5 years now.
6. Make sure you carry Re-Authorization form , cancelled cheque, Aadhaar and PAN with all Xerox ready.
7. Ask for the help or wait till they feel pity on you and ask what the hell you are doing here ?
8. In my case i thought it was IFSC code wrong they told its not IFSC code , in most of cases the bank account which is bearing number starting with 000 , system trails in UAN portal and this is what you need to correct it and submit it.
9.Once they verify get this stamped in ground floor in cash reconciliation office . you might need peon help here.
10. Once the stamp done go to records section and submit the form and collect your receipt.
You should see a new status in your passbook claim status : NOT TRACK CLAIM.

And i did mistake even after reading and following , the one detail got missed which was IFSC Code. The IFSC code was wrong which i dint realize. Money never credited to my account and probably will be returned back to EPF and i have to reclaim. Will be grateful if you have got any help to suggest on this.

If your service in the company is 5 Years or more then that you can get the total PF Amount
If your service is less than 5, then you may have to submit PAN and 15G(), if these documents are not submitted TAX will be deducted on the amount you claim.

Yes, you need to add EPS amount also.
It is better to add PAN to UAN site before withdrawal.
Please note that PF withdrawal before 5 years is taxable whether TDS is deducted or not

How many times can one withdraw for the same reason depends on the purpose, for example, one can withdraw for the marriage of self, son or daughter, brother or sister 3 times after one has completed 7 years of service.
For marriage purpose, one can withdraw 50% of employee share but for treatment, one can withdraw up to 6 times of Wages. Wages here mean Basic + Dearness Allowance, not your Take Home salary.

I have applied for my PF on 16-Feb-19 & don’t see the status moving from “Under Process”. Ideally if the government claims that PF settlement has reduced to 10 days than 15 to 20 days earlier. It should work practically.
I had written to grievance also and they further extended it to 15 to 20 days.

After 20 days I have start following to track my PF status on portal but I did not found any update in between I have tried to connect with PF office to know about my PF status but phone was showing busy all time.
again I came at Dwarka PF office at date of 27 th December 2018 after finishing long que I meet one person at Counter no -13 while checking my concern from his computer he said your form is rejected due to Father name and DOB is not matching
When I have shown my all documents to that person he said you have already summited join declaration from along with all documents so “PF rejecte nahi hona chahiye”
Again he given a slip and told me that contact with concern person that setting in 1st floor at same building I went to meet that person to know about why my PF is rejected at counter no 16/8.
While talking with that person he shown me my file and said my RFC/ RAC is very busy now he/she will come at office twice in week so this process will take 10-13 more same time I have requested to that person also informed to him to about how I need this money on urgent basis.
I waiting for my PF settlement now almost 45 days pass away but amount is not credited yet in my account still online showing your form is rejected due to your DOB and Father name mismatch

Your date of Exit from the company should be more than 2 Months exactly… for example if you have quit on Nov 30th then you can apply on Jan 31st. Provided the date of exit should show up on your Service history. Hope it helps. Take care!

That works only if you have transferred the old PF to the new account as each EPF account is handled by a different Regional EPFO office.

Employer has updated the date of exit in EPFO Portal, when i am trying to withdraw PF or Pension withdrawal i.e form31 or 19, It is showing as “DATE OF EXIT IS LESS THAN 2 MONTHS FROM TODAY” may last working day is 24/08/2018.

If you get the message that the claim is settled but money has not come to your account. Please verify that your bank details are correct. If your bank details are incorrect then one needs to submit the reauthorization form with the cancelled cheque of the bank

You can try
1. Rasing epf grievance again and attaching snapshot of the status.

Dear Sir, I have tried more than 10 times to log in complain online…Took helo from one of my friend also who went through same problem. I fill all the necessary information they ask…But after I press submit button it takes some time and again show the same page without any query while filling the form. I am from Surat, Gujarat and my EPFO is Bandra, Mumbai. My family is in some urgent need of money for medical reason. Im unable to submit my EPF claim online. It says exceeded maximum online claim advice to submit physical claim. This happen because i have applied numerous time without updating my Pan Card before and apparently rejecetd.

The claim documents received date shows 29 Aug, 2018. Until few days the status showed “under process”. But since yesterday it shows “Status Unavailable”. Why is it taking so much time & how long will it take? Is there any other means I can reach out to the Malad/ Kandivali PF office on call/ email id as I will not be able to visit the office.
Malad/Kandivali Office will never reply or work as expecting , don’t know what exact issue they have. But you can raise grievance at http://www.epfigms.gov.in/ After raising grievance request they resolve within 7 Working days. or Send Mail at and mention your query.

Does one need to reapply for the EPF withdrawal? No, one does not need to reapply for EPF Withdrawal.

The solution is to submit the reauthorization letter to the Regional EPFO office offline with correct bank details and cancelled cheque leaf.
After submitting EPF re-authorization letter, it takes 10-15 days to credit your EPF amount to the correct bank account.
From the sample details required in reauthorization form are:
Correct name,
Bank address and
Account number
The seal and signature of the employer who attests to verify your signature in this form which is mandatory.
You need to submit the reauthorization letter to Regional EPFO.

If the claim is settled and many days have passed please verify that bank account number is correct, IFSC code is correct. After logging on to UAN Website (https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/) you can click Manage->KYC to see your details.
What if the bank account is closed/or bank details don’t match due to name mismatch or number of digits or incorrect IFSC code? Once NEFT fails then EPF amount will be credited back to the EPFO bank account within 4-6 days.
In such case does one need to reapply for the EPF withdrawal? No, one does not need to reapply for EPF Withdrawal.4The solution is to submit the reauthorization letter to the Regional EPFO office offline with correct bank details and cancelled cheque leaf. After submitting EPF re-authorization letter, it takes 10-15 days to credit your EPF amount to the correct bank account.

EPFO Gurgaon claims that it takes 25 days to process advance or PF settlement and withdrawal and they do not follow citizens Charter available on EPFO website which claims 10 days.. Even I have written emails of Additional Commissioner epfo Haryana.. Whose office have sent emails to RO EPFO Gurgaon.. On which the authorised person is not responding.
I think we should pray to God to save us from this Bribed burocrats….
These are still working in the era of 30 years old Governments office’s. Where employees are taking salary handsomely but working only for tea and lunch in offices.

Sir, If we agree 3 weeks time is taken.. Then why in citizens Charter of EPFO they claimed 10 days.. This is very poor working of EPFO and they even do not answer on emails and calls.. Every case is exceptional case to them.

Can I apply for final PF settlement twice? First time I applied, I received only last firm’s PF amount. I also want to withdraw PF from my previous firm. Can I apply online again? Kindly advise. Thanks.

I have submitted claim on july 30th and in EPFO Site, it shows settled but when i try to check the claim status through https://passbook.epfindia.gov.in/MemClaimStatusUAN/view, it shows status not available. Is this something i need to worry or escalate.

It takes within 3-20 days to get the amount settled depending on the EPFO.
I have submitted on 21/6/2018 still it’s under process what’s going on don’t know

You should have got the money in your bank account in Jan.
Check your bank account details. Are they correct?
Please raise a complaint to find out if money was transferred and if yes to which account?

Gunjan I have also applied for my claim on the same date but on UAN portal still it is showing under process however mark a mail to grivience deptt. u can alao chat live with the executives on Umang app for your pf …. They told me that it amount is approved on 26th July but it is pending for dispatch (NEFT).

Usually, you get the amount within 2 days after the message.
Please check your bank account number, is it correct?
Even I have the same issue. Its been 8 days since when epfo has settled through neft. But amount is not yet credited to my account yet. Bank details are correct.

Account number is proper. Still money is not credited, even though neft is initiated 8 days back. Please let me know if there is any issue or bug with epfo.

Hi, I had worked in my prev organisation for 3 years. ANd working in the current organisation for almost 4 and half years now.
Have transferred previous PF account balance to current UAN.
Trying to do PF partial Withdrawal online. Though the current UAN ‘s balance is updated with previous PF amount. The current UAN is having my service as less than five years and Online claim is listing only few options which are applicable for members with less than 5yrs experience in the REASON FOR WITHDRAWAL drop down .
Please let me know how to proceed with this situation. Is offline claim the only solution. And will tax deduction happen as UAN is having my work experience as less than 5yrs

As it is partial withdrawal no TDS will be deducted.

but same cases amount credited with in 2-3 days .central government organization employees got his/her claim amount with in 24hrs ..but small scale and medium scale industries working people only get them claim amount within 15 days.
sir i applied pf full settlement through offiline mode form 19 and form 10c to pf office but employer signature is given by HR head, its ok or chairman signature is required ? Please reply

The online PF withdrawal request status shows,“Claim Settled but Returned”.When I checked First letter in my Bank Account number is missing instead of “0598” it shows as “598”
