What do Gucci, Dolce and Gabbana, Calvin Klein, Boss- Hugo Boss, Lacoste remind, Tommy Hilfiger, DKNY, Polo remind you of? These are all designer brands famous world over. It was 1998 when Bahut kuch hua(lot’s happened) after seeing the Shahrukh movie. “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai” especially in terms of fashion and style. Shahrukh and Rani flaunted the designer dresses, Polo, Tommy Hilfiger, DKNY.
Designer clothes
The markets got flooded with similar Tshirts, dungarees. I too bought one unaware of the fact that it was fake, till I saw my cousin from New York wearing similar shirt. Our shirts looked similar but there was a huge difference in terms of smoothness, texture and though his was a year older, mine looked faded. I still remember what my cousin said “Clothes can suggest, persuade, connote, insinuate, or indeed lie, and apply subtle pressure while their wearer is speaking frankly and straightforwardly of other matters ”. My mother was shocked on hearing the price of the T shirt and declared that Foreign brands are simply overpriced and are good as status symbol only. Then we had a handful of luxury brands and they were being sold mainly from shops located in five star hotels, so my mother was justified.
Times changed and with multi-income families and increasing international exposure through travel and the Internet, the attitude changed from the traditional emphasis of savings to a spending approach and from spending on necessity to lifestyle products. Indians now wanted to own products that are trendy, make them appear COOL and inspire awe and envy but get value for money. When my mother did not blink an eye on getting a Louis Vuitton Monogram Speedy 30 bag from her best friend on a visit from USA(yes aunty admitted she got in sale), I realized that yes times have truly changed. But the catch was where to buy? Some Luxury malls opened and some of the products became available in top retail chains like Shopper’s Stop, Lifestyle, and Ebony. But when brands were available, they were either too expensive or outdated causing a lot of frustration. It was still relying on the cousins or the father who went on official trips!
With e-commerce picking up and people’s love and desire for stylish and quality products from foreign countries not met , what was needed was online shopping site offering garments and accessories from established and boutique designer labels at discounted prices. That’s where Qvendo.com comes in the picture. Qvendo is founded by Reema and Oliver von Quadt in 2010 and has head-quarters in Munich, Germany.

What is Qvendo
Amazing website of Qvendo!
When Indiblogger gave me the opportunity to be a part of this club I was excited. I became the member of Qvendo and was impressed by the website which was simple, elegant and easy to use. What struck me was:
The class and elegance of site.
Great discounts on sale campaigns,
Sales campaigns changed every 2-3 weeks.
Easy user interface like filliping a page of Vogue.
The description of the items with the dimensions.
A Handy Size chart accessible through Size Assistant.
Magnifier to thoroughly check the item.
If item was sold out it was clearly mentioned.(saves disappointment to order and then be told it’s out of stock).
Buying an item was simple-Just Add to Cart.
All-inclusive handling of customs, insurance and flat rate shipping(Rs 900) to any door in India. (Missed the Diwali shopping when delivery was Free 🙁 )
It’s not just some retailer giving you a product and telling you to buy it because it’s cool. They have a blog too which helps to get to really know the designers they sell. Blog has Latest tips on how to wear the popular trends and ideas on how to express . I loved the post 5 rules to carry perfect bags.
Are discounts genuine?
I checked up the google and searched for watch Replay Ladies Gt Black Dial Black Leather Strap Watch RW5603NH. Comparison of the price at watches2u.com and Qvendo is given below. The watch original prices is Rs 10,200 which is comparable to the price Rs 11,179.60(converted price) mentioned at watched2u.com. And it is available at Rs 3300 in Quendo. Can it get lesser than this?
Discounts are genuine!
My buy-list
Now I was convinced that yes the site is genuine so I decided to make up my shopping list. It was difficult to decide as I wanted everything. At the time of writing merchandise from True Religion brand(Shahrukh and Kareena wear True Religion jeans so do Collin Farrell & Megan Fox. Checkout the post on qvendo blog. ) and Replay watches were available so decided to add them to my shopping cart. Bags from Poodle and Replay Jewels would be available from 2nd Nov, so would love to buy that too. I checked the poodle website and their collection of bags is out of this world. Wondering which bags will be available at Qvendo? I am dying to see the reactions of my friends and family when we shall go to the party wearing Qvendo merchandise!
Qvendo:Gateway to luxury and exclusivity
Hand selected merchandise is available for purchase through the sites online sale campaigns which only lasts for few days. So you are assured that when you walk into the party you are THE ONLY ONE wearing that dress/bag/watch. Unlike in past when one searched for THE dress/bag/watch in the trendiest of places and walked wearing it into the party one saw many people wearing similar one. To highlight the exclusivity of it’s brands to separate the Crème de la Crème from a window shopper QVENDO is a membership site. Membership is granted through private invitation from other customers or be leaving your name and email address on the website, after which they will get back to you. Membership itself is free. If you want to be part(any reason why not?) of the exclusive club then click here or at image below.
Qvendo through its products shows passion for fashion. And Qvendo isn’t simply about clothes, shoes, accessories, handbags it’s about lifestyle to make one feel special, exclusive and that too at Genuine discount! No wonder QVENDO.com is quickly becoming the trendsetting fashion portal in India- Likes on Facebook are increasing at fast rate! Looking at Qvendo makes us wonder is this the future of online fashion shopping? Can it get classier, simpler than this? Will it fit like angothi mein nagina(gem in a ring) or would disappoint like similar websites FashionandYou.com, 99labels(in googling I found mixed reviews, complaints about delivery and incomplete orders)? What do you say?

And Super Congrats!
Thanks Lipsy. Better late than never 🙂 Glad you liked the post..Now I am scared because of pressure of expectations.
More than the prize I am Thankful to indiblogger for such friends and readers!
The line between luxury brands and affordable ones is fact disappearing. As you stated, multi income families and cultural influence through movies and travel are also accelerators for the same. Luxury brands always hold a sense of awe and more Indians want to possess them to announce their “arrival”. Very unique point of view!!
Glad to know that you liked it. ..yes you rightly pointed out luxuries are quickly becoming wants and needs. Try telling a 60 year
old that the Reebok shoes cost just 2500 and you would get a BIG lecture.
