Umang App, is one single app for availing various government services (central, state & regional). You can use UMANG on multiple platforms such as Smartphone, Desktop and Tablets. What is Umang App?
UMANG, Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance, is all about e-governance. It is developed by Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and National e-Governance Division (NeGD). It is an evolving platform designed for citizens of India to offer them access to the pan India e-Gov services from the Central, State, Local Bodies, and Agencies of government on app, web, SMS, and IVR channels. It will integrate almost 200 government services by 2019 across departments, allowing people to work seamlessly with the government. Or so we hope. UMANG will soon be providing integration with various other services such as PayGov. UMANG will revolutionize the way how an Indian citizen avails government services today, claims the Government.
UMANG will enable citizens to download a single mobile app instead of multiple apps for each department and make it easy for them to discover government services.
The Umang App suggests enrolling your Aadhaar as various government services are linked to it. It is optional but it would be beneficial to link the Aadhaar with UAN.
It is available as a website https://web.umang.gov.in/ and as a mobile App on Android, Windows and iOS platform. It requires 4.4 Android and up its size is 10 MB. Rating of 4.7 on Play Store.
It is available in 13 languages such as English, Hindi, Assamese, Gujarati, Bengali, Kannada, Odia,Punjabi, Malyalam, Marathi, Tamil,Telegu,Urdu.
It supports services like EPFO, PAN, NPS, CBSE, pathshala, GST,HP Gas, Bharat Gas, Indane Gas, DigiLocker etc.

What services are available on Umang?
- EPFO: EPFO assists the Central Board in monitoring the PF for the workforce engaged in the organized sector in India. The services offered in the app are generic search services and employee services. You can see the EPFO app here.
- myPAN: New PAN Card application form 49A for Individual, firm etc. You can change PAN card details using CSF form. Track PAN card status and make payment online. Resume your application of 49A and CSF.
- Pension Portal: The department of Pension & Pensioners Welfare is the nodal department for formulation of policies relating to pension & other retirement benefits of Central Government Pensioners/Family Pensioners.
- CBSE: A single Application where you can view exam results and locate the exam center for all your CBSE Board and competitive exams
- ePathshala: The ePathshala.,a joint initiative of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). Govt. of India and National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) The Services available on UMANG include. Students can access E-Books. audios. and videos. Teachers can access E-Books. teaching instructions. curricular resources. audios and videos. Educators can access E-Books. curricular resources. periodicals. audios.videos etc. Parents can access E-Books. curricular resources. learning outcomes. audios and videos
- GST: Goods and Services Tax Network provides GST related IT infrastructure and services. It plays a crucial role in registration and search of GST taxpayers. GST payment and filing of returns
- HP Gas, Bharat Gas, Indane Gas: Gas consumers can avail various LPG related services like Book cylinder, pay fee online . see refill history. check subsidy information and request a double cylinder connection. New Delhi Municipal Corporation provides citizen-centric services such as Barat Ghar booking. Yellow Fever vaccination and allows to download birth and death certificates. - NPS: The Subscriber can access latest account details using PRANand password. Subscriber can browse through account information. change scheme preference. contribute to subscriber account & many functionalities.
- PariVahan Seva Vahan: Check and Download your vehicle registration certificate from Digi Locker.
- Passport Seva: Passport Seva is an initiative by Ministry of External Affairs. Govt. Of India. It enables simple. efficient and transparent processes for delivery of passport and related services. You can see Passport App on Umang here
- Pay Income Tax: Tax payer can pay taxes like Advance Tax. Self Assessment Tax and other taxes. using challan 28o service. After submitting the challan, tax payers can track their challan using Track Challan Status service.
- Pharma Sahi Daam: Pharma Sahi Daam from NPPA is an online search tool for checking prices of Scheduled/Non-Scheduled medicines instantly at the time of purchasing medicines and for searching medicine substitutes.
- Crop Insurance: A service that allows farmers to calculate Insurance premium and total insured amount for their crops according to the various schemes introduced by the government.
- DigiSevak : A platform where you can view and apply for Freelance jobs posted by government organizations
- e-Dhara Land Records: Users(Gujrat) can view their land records of 7/12, 8/12 and 6/12 with respect to their District taluaka & village

How to register for Umang App
You can register for Umang App on Website or you can download the Mobile App. Look and feel is same on both websiye and Mobile.
Umang App on Website is available at https://web.umang.gov.in/
Umang app on Mobile is available for Android, Windows and iOS platform. Download the Umang app from your respective app store such as Google Play Store for Android users. It requires 4.4 and up It’s size is 10 MB .
- You can select the language you want the app to show.
- Enter your mobile number and verify it using OTP.
- Select 4 digit MPIN (mobile Personal Identification Number)
- Select 2 Security questions which are as follows
- Enter Personal Details such as Gender, Date of Birth, Qualification, Occupation, State or Union Territory, District.
- You can provide the email address and Alternate number, which will then be verified by sending OTP.
- Linking to Aadhaar is optional.
How to register for Umang App
Umang app is available for Android, Windows and iOS platform. Download the Umang app from your respective app store such as Google Play Store for Android users. It requires 4.4 and up. It’s size is 10 MB .
During the Umang Installation, You have to choose the desired language and verify the mobile number through the OTP. It also asks permission for call and SMS.
- Launch the UMANG app.
- Click New User. Then Select Registration Mode screen appears.
- Select the Mobile Number option. The Registration screen appears.
- Enter the mobile number and click the proceed icon to continue. The Mobile Number Verification screen appears.
- Enter the OTP received on the mobile number. If the entered OTP is correct, the Set MPIN screen appears.
- In Enter your MPIN, enter the MPIN to be set.
- In Confirm MPIN, enter the same MPIN for confirmation.
- Click the proceed icon to continue. The Security Questions screen appears to enable users to recover their account in case they forget their MPIN.
- Users will be asked to choose two questions and provide answers to these questions at the time of registration.
- Click the Proceed icon to continue.
- The Aadhaar Integration screen appears to enable users to link their Aadhaar ID with their UMANG profile. The Aadhaar integration enables users to login to UMANG using their Aadhaar number. The Aadhaar profile information in UMANG is used for eKYC. Users cannot link their Aadhaar ID with multiple profiles in UMANG.
- click SKIP to add the Aadhaar information later in the app.
- Enter the Aadhaar number to login to the app using Aadhaar number.
- Click the proceed icon to complete the Aadhaar integration.
- The Mobile Number Verification screen appears. Enter the OTP received on the Aadhaar registered mobile number.
- the Profile Information screen appears.Enter the profile information and click SAVE & PROCEED or click SKIP to add the profile details later.
- You can provide an email address: If the user has entered an email address in the profile information, an email is sent to the entered email address and the Email has been sent for verification. Please check your Inbox message is displayed to the user. The email is added to the user profile only when the user clicks the verification link received from the entered email address.
- You can provide alternate number: It would be verified by sending an OTP.
The UMANG registration process completes and the UMANG Home screen appears.

EPFO Service on Umang App

Gas App on Umang
Bharat Gas App on Umang is as shown in the image. Bharat gas consumers can avail various LPG related services like Book cylinder, pay online for certain distributors, see refill history and request double cylinder connection.
Passport Seva App on Umang
Passport Seva is an initiative by Ministry of External Affairs. It enables simple, efficient and transparent processes for delivery of passport and related services.
Settings at Umang
You can change the settings of your account ex Changing Registered Mobile Number, MPIN etc by going to Settings. The Settings Tab and Manage Your Account Tab is shown in the Image below.
